The Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education is conducting Batch 2 of the teacher recruitment exercise to further address educator shortages in our primary and secondary schools. This second phase builds on the progress from the first batch and reinforces our drive to ensure every child has access to quality learning.

Under the leadership of the Governor, His Excellency Dr. Alex Otti, this process seeks highly qualified, passionate teachers who will help mold students into future-ready leaders. Priority will be given to critical subject areas, especially in hard-to-serve/remote locations.

This bold step is an investment in our children and in the state’s socio-economic growth. By equipping schools with skilled educators, we are laying a solid foundation for academic excellence and lifelong success.


Applicants must meet the minimum educational qualifications advertised in any interested subject. Those with a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) are also eligible. Additional qualifications such as NCE or relevant teaching certifications will be an added advantage.


Applicants must provide the following documents:

Academic/ Professional Certificate

NYSC Discharge/Exemption Certificate or Exclusion Letter

Certificate of Local Government of Origin

Birth Certificates / Age Declaration

First School Leaving Certificate

National ID Card/NIN Number (Where available)

The recruitment process typically involves the following steps:

- Shortlisting of eligible applicants.
- Aptitude test.
- Interviews, Document Verification and practical teaching demonstrations.
- Final selection and deployment.
